My Garbage

Sometimes I get to thinking and that always hurts my brain

But lately I’ve been thinking with extra strains and pains

Had profound revelations.  Saw the face of an ugly man

Last garbage day morning when I looked in my garbage can.

(Chorus)

I looked in my garbage and what did I see

All my bad habits looking back at me

I could be a good man if I used more care

On what kind of garbage I’d leave to my heirs.

Cans and plastic bottles, papers all were mine.

They all could be recycled if I’d just take the time.

Styrofoam convenience wouldn’t be in this mess,

There’d be no extra wrappers if I bought my food fresh.

((Chorus)

Either garbage gotten bigger or the world’s gotten smaller

There ain’t no place to hide it.  It’s a tough one to swoller.

What I’m leaving all the children after forty years have past

If I were my own grandchild I think I’d kick my……..Butt I…Chorus……..
