Night Before Hallow(poem)

‘T was the before Hallow in the old family plot.

Not a creature was stirring, ‘least not a whole lot.

Bats were all hanging in an old nearby shed.

And soon some black magic would awaken the dead.

A witch or a warlock in some nearby tower

Might feel a resurgence of mystical power.

Tormented ghosts and goblins that drool

Would soon be released for their one night to rule

And prey on the townsfolk with their antics and screams

There’s no rest for the wicked.  They’ll come in your dreams.

And children in costume would knock at your door.

Are these really children?  What’s really in store?

Could a demon possessed walk around in plain sight.

At your doorstep unnoticed to return late at night?

The night it grows nearer, we’ll come to you soon

By total black darkness or the light of the moon

I in my coffin, ma ma’ in her crypt

Are just now awakening

We hope you’re

Equipped
