Time is a River

Time is a river life is a boat

Gently down that stream I float

Just one “have-to” the rest are lies

I have to live until I die

I’m just me I can’t be you

Even if you want me to

Too hard to pull against the flow

So Gently down that stream I go

Fall short when I imitate

Be myself I’ll do great

I’m a child. My life’s a dream

Gently flowing down the stream

On the river bank you dance

Catch your eye a playful glance

Pull my boat upon your shore

Love you once I want some more

Repeat first verse

Winds of wisdom from the past

Hoist the main sail up the mast

Carpenter from Galilee

Show me winds that set me free

Repeat first verse
